EtchingsEtching is the process of using strong acid or mordant to cut into the unprotected parts of a metal surface to create a design in intaglio in the metal. Chine Collé Chine-collé is a special technique in printmaking in which the image is transferred to a surface that is bonded to a heavier support in the printing process. One purpose is to allow the printmaker to print on a much more delicate surface, such as Japanese paper or linen, which pulls finer details off the plate. Another purpose is to provide a background colour behind the image that is different from the surrounding backing sheet I always create my own chin collé with water colour on Masa paper Aquatint Like etching, aquatint uses the application of acid to make the marks in the metal plate. Where the etching technique uses a needle to make lines that print in black (or whatever colour ink is used), aquatint uses powdered resin which is acid resistant in the ground to create a tonal effect. The tonal variation is controlled by the level of acid exposure over large areas, and thus the image is shaped by large sections at a time |

Lino PrintsLinocut is a printmaking technique, a variant of woodcut in which a sheet of linoleum (sometimes mounted on a wooden block) is used for the relief surface. A design is cut into the linoleum surface with a sharp knife, V-shaped chisel or gouge, with the raised (uncarved) areas representing a reversal (mirror image) of the parts to show printed. The linoleum sheet is inked with a roller (called a brayer), and then impressed onto paper or fabric. The actual printing can be done by hand or with a press. One can use the same Chin Collé technique as in etching. I always create my own chin collé paper with water colour or acrylic on Masa Paper |

Pebeio Acrylic (18)
The Pebeo Acrylic I use is a liquid. It can be poured or applied with a small stick. The colours do not mix, they stay separate but move around. It is quite challenging to work with and also time consuming if you want to create a more realistic art piece. -
Pebeo Miniatures (14)
These miniatures are 2x2, 3x3 4x4 and 6x6 -

Oil (25)
Oil painting is the process of painting with pigments that are bound with a medium of drying. -
Watercolour (66)
Watercolour, also aquarelle from French, is a painting method. A watercolor is the medium, in which the paints are made of pigments suspended in a water soluble. The traditional watercolor paintings are done on paper; others are papyrus, bark papers, plastics, vellum or leather, fabric, wood, and canvas. -
Mixed Media (19)
Mixed media, in visual art, refers to an artwork in the making of which more than one medium has been employed. -
Acrylic (21)
Acrylic paint is fast drying paint containing pigment suspension in acrylic polymer emulsion Acrylic paints can be diluted with water, but become water-resistant when dry. Depending on how much the paint is diluted (with water) or modified with acrylic gels, media, or pastes, the finished acrylic painting can resemble a watercolour or an oil painting or have its own unique characteristics not attainable with other media. -
Collage (5)
A collage (from the French : coller, to glue) is a work of formal art, primarily in the visual arts, made from an assemblage of different forms, thus creating a new whole. A collage may include newspaper clipping, ribbons , bits of colored or hand-made papers, portions of other artwork, photographs, a piece of moss or even a dead mole and other found objects , glued to a piece of paper or canvas. -
Encaustic (3)
Encaustic painting, also known as hot wax painting, involves using heated beeswax to which colored pigments are added. The liquid/paste is then applied to a surface usually prepared wood, though canvas and other materials are often used. -
Furniture (32)
To create art on old to be refurbished furniture is fun. One can use any type of media. I used acrylic, watercolour sealed with varnish or oil paint. All the pieces I did were for fundraising auctions.
